Infected Fly

Infected Fly - Insects
This fly has been infected by a fungus - the white growth. Eventually the fungus will overpower the insect and kill it. Before the fly dies, it will find its way to a high point. After death, the fungal spores are dispersed by the wind and go on to infect another host.
