Kirkstone Pass Inn 2

This inn at the top of the Kirkstone Pass in Cumbria is England’s highest pub at 1491 feet above sea level. Situated on the road between Ullswater and Windermere at the junction with the road leading down to Ambleside, it has been in existence since 1496. A welcoming sight after a walk in the bleak but beautiful landscape, it’s even more inviting as the night or the weather closes in.
