Bristol Supersonic - Aircraft in Black and White
A Bristol 188 supersonic research aircraft. The aircraft could only achieve Mach 1.88 rather than Mach 2, and couldn't maintain the speed long enough to study structural heating effects. The project was cancelled in 1964 after two years but the technical knowledge obtined was used in the Concorde programme.
